And where we had thought to find an abomination, we shall find a god. And where we had thought to slay another, we shall slay ourselves. And where we had thought to travel outward, we shall come to the center of our own existence. And where we had thought to be alone, we shall be with all the world.

- Joseph Campbell, The Power of Myth

Inner Work Community

Inner Work Community LLC (IWC) is an online space for those seeking to reclaim their full humanity by building a kind and curious relationship with their hidden life—supported both individually and communally.

Shadow refers to our personal unconscious, is like a dense, dark forest. Shadow work is the relational commitment to listening, feeling, mapping, and befriending that inner wilderness—the very parts of ourselves we have feared or ignored.

About Dr. Michael Simmons

IWC is founded and led by Dr. Michael Simmons, a trained and experienced psycho-spiritual practitioner specializing in shadow work and personal transformation. While not a therapist, Michael’s trauma-informed approach integrates elements of Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behavioral Techniques (CBT), and psychodrama, offering a deep and holistic coaching experience.

Michael works with individuals from diverse faith and non-faith traditions, particularly those who have experienced spiritual or relational wounding. He creates a confidential, nonjudgmental space where clients can explore their inner world and integrate what they discover.
